We are pleased to now offer Nationwide Dial-Up as an added service to your Planet Connect Account. This will give you the ability to dial up locally in any of over 4,000 locations across the United States and Canada.
We offer 3 options in purchasing this service.
If you have a current dialup account with us, you may use the service any time you are out of town. The cost for this is $4.95 per month, and this includes up to 150 hours of dial-up time on the Nationwide Network Access. You do not need to notify Planet Connect of your intention to use the service. We will monitor usage and bill accordingly at the end of each month.
If you have a current dialup account with us, and if you travel frequently, you may sign up for the $4.95 service to be automatically billed to your account monthly. As with the first option, this account comes with 150 hours of Nationwide Network Access.
If you have a current dialup or wireless account, you may also purchase a secondary account for $9.95 per month. This account is especially valuable if you have a son or daughter away at college, a member of your family travels frequently and you would like the ability for both people at home and the family member who is traveling to be online at the same time, or a parent whom you would like to provide internet access for. In order to purchase this account, you must already be a Planet Connect customer with an existing dial up or wireless account. You cannot purchase this account instead of your existing account - only in addition to your existing account. This account comes with 150 hours of Nationwide access, as well as an unique email address.
The only modifications necessary to use the Nationwide Access are:
To add @planetc.com to the end of your username in your dial-up connection.
To enable SMTP authentication, which is usually labeled as "My Outgoing Mail Server Requires Authentication" in your email program.
