Additional E-Mail Addresses

E-Mail Alias

An e-mail alias gives you a second e-mail address that forwards mail to your existing e-mail account. For instance, the username johndoe could have an alias of janedoe and both johndoe@planetc.com and janedoe@planetc.com

would get their e-mail from the same mailbox.

The disadvantage of an e-mail alias is security. The password for both accounts is the same.

E-Mail Account

An e-mail account gives you a second e-mail address that has an entirely different username and password from the existing e-mail account. This type of address requires that your mail software be capable of handling multiple identities or you must change the e-mail settings each time you want to check the other accounts e-mail.

Static IP Addresses

A static IP address will give you the ability to allow others to connect directly to your computer to retrieve files or web information. Static IP addresses are most commonly used in IRC networks and connecting to secure networks. Session limits still apply! Includes a full host address such as johndoe.planetc.com
