NEW T-3 BACKBONE NOW OPERATING BETWEEN KNOXVILLE AND OUR ENGLISH MOUNTAIN AND BLUFF MOUNTAIN HUBS:

To provide our wireless Internet subscribers with a very fast connection, Planet Connect Internet has recently installed a wireless T-3 backbone between downtown Knoxville and English Mountain. Special high-speed microwave radios are used to provide a 45 million bit per second link between each hub location. The link starts in downtown Knoxville at the MCI-Worldcom building. This is where our T-3 Internet fiber optic connection  from Atlanta is terminated. The circuit then goes to Bluff  mountain in Sevier county and then ends up at our English mountain hub in Cocke county.

This new circuit provides up to 45 million bits per second which is over 30 times more bandwidth than is used by most local Internet providers. As the number of wireless subscribers grows, this new backbone will supply an ample amount of data to their networks and computers.
