CURRENT STATUS: Halls Top is now operational
LOCATION:
Many people in Cocke county know about Halls Top. The fire tower at the top of the mountain can be seen from many locations in the county. At 3573 feet above sea level, the mountain has an excellent view of Cocke county. The wireless Internet antennas are located on the tower which holds several large microwave dish antennas.
This map is an indication of good signal quality areas. Other areas can receive the signal if amplifiers are used on the users system. Check with Planet Connect to see if your area is useable.

The Halls Top tower is providing an excellent signal into all of the areas near the mountain. The following areas have been tested for a good signal:
Newport - Excellent
Cosby area between the Cosby High School and Newport - Excellent
Golf Course - Excellent
Parrottsville area - Good
Bridgeport area - Excellent
Bybee area - testing at this time
